Install Debug Assistant 3.5
Go to download page to download Debug
Assistant 3.5. If you have chosen download and run, after download, setup
should start automatically, or if you have chosen save to disk, then after download
you can click DebugAssist_3.5.msi to start setup. Remember Debug Assistant
is not a
stand alone application, rather it is a Visual Studio package. It requires
either VS 2005 or
VS 2008 or both to run. Before install of Debug Assistant, you need Visual Studio
already installed and make sure they are not running. If you have previously installed
any version of Debug Assistant, you may need to uninstall it first. See below on
uninstall Debug Assistant.
Install should be straight forward. After install of Debug Assistant, start VS 2005/2008,
check if a top level menu item DebugAssist is added. If not, send a message to support@seinactive.com.
On DebugAssist menu, click Show DebugAssist Window. Debug Assist tool windows should
be
docked at the bottom of the IDE. If not, you may drag and move this window to make
it docked to the bottom of IDE. Some people like it to be stand alone window, or even
drag it to a second monitor if you have one. Debug Assistant does not create a start menu.
If you have read Get Start with Debug Assistant, you
can open your Visual C++ project to try it out.
Uninstall Debug Assistant 3.5
Uninstall Debug Assistant is no difference
than other software. You just go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Program -> find
the entry for Debug Assistant ->Uninstall. Next time you start Visual Studio
2005/2008, Debug Assistant should be gone.
